HackTheBox As An ISC2 CPE Provider
Earning, and more importantly, tracking and submitting CPEs to ISC2 is not always the easiest process.
ISC2 groups CPE into different categories and then expects you to track the time methodically and accurately according to their standards. Most of the CPE I have earned are through attending various webinars or training provided by federal cybersecurity partners.
When I first earned my CISSP, my records were “randomly” audited. It was an exhausting 6-week process that I have no intention to experience again.
In order to make my life easier, I now work my way through HackTheBox’s CPE allocation process.
It takes a minute or two to simply link my ISC2 ID to my HTB account, and once a month, the credits are transferred to ISC2.
I’ve been working at this for about 5 weeks now and making my way through the Certified Penetration Tester coureswork. My early allocations are just now starting to trickle into ISC2 and it looks like this..
Because of the way HTB batches their CPE push to ISC2 once a month, this particular set of credits was only worth 2. I don’t keep track, and that’s the point, but I likely have 10-12 on their way in the next round.
In summary, this CPE allocation system actually works and I expect the rest of my credits will be backfilled this way.
